The latest episode of “Samantha Brown’s Places to Love” aired on PBS, where she travels on Route 66 west from Tulsa through the Texas Panhandle to the New Mexico border.
Over 25 minutes, she visits Threatt Filling Station in Luther, Oklahoma; First Americans Museum and a neon artist in Oklahoma City; Sid’s Diner in El Reno, Oklahoma; Devil’s Rope Museum in McLean, Texas; Lile Art Gallery, Cadillac Ranch, a cowgirl ranch and Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo; and the Midpoint Cafe in Adrian, Texas.
Brown said in an interview a few months ago she wanted to explore Route 66 from St. Louis westward to the Pacific Ocean before the highway’s centennial next year.
Many old Samantha Brown episodes, including one she did on Route 66 in Illinois last year, can be viewed online via PBS streaming. In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled for future Route 66 episodes.
