More details emerge about Buck’s Vintage on 66 in Tulsa

A TV station in Tulsa revealed new details about Mary Beth Babcock’s new-ish venture — Buck’s Vintage on Route 66 — which includes yet another Muffler Man in the Meadow Gold District and a series of other businesses in the 66 Collective.

Fox23 reported that Buck’s Vintage is moving into the Hardesty Press building, now called 66 Collective, at East 11th Street (aka Route 66) and Peoria Avenue. The building will house multiple shops.

Here are before-and-after images of the 66 Collective:

The station reported:

Babcock said the new Buck’s Vintage shop is going to be totally different. They’ll be selling all western wear.

“Cowboy boots, belt buckles, bolo ties, pearl snaps,” she said.

She said they applied for the Route 66 Neon Sign grant and got approved, so they’ll have a neon sign which is being made now.

The 20-foot tall statue, expected to be installed in the summer, will made from the same mold as Buck Atoms.

“He’s this western musician, did a concert at Cain’s Ballroom, fell in love with Tulsa and decided to stay on Route 66,” Babcock said.

For those who don’t know, Cain’s Ballroom is a historic music venue that dates back 101 years. It’s hosted shows ranging from Bob Wills & the Texas Playboys to the Sex Pistols.

Buck’s Vintage will be part of the same district that includes the Meadow Gold neon sign, Buck’s Cosmic Curios on 66 and Meadow Gold Mack’s Outpost on 66. Babcock is involved with three of the last four listed.

Cowboy Bob will be the fourth Muffler Man in the district.
