Route 66 Association of Kansas license plate will be produced in early 2026

The governor of Kansas recently signed a measure into law that will allow the state’s residents to purchase a Route 66 Association of Kansas license plate on or after Jan. 1.

Gov. Laura Kelly has signed House Bill 2201, which provides for license plates for the National Future Farmers of America organization, Route 66 Association of Kansas and a blackout-style plate, according to a news release from the governor.

The Kansas Route 66 plate will collect royalty fees of $25 to $100 as set by the association. Funds generated by these sales will go back to benefit the Route 66 Association of Kansas.

Above is a proposed design for the Kansas Route 66 license plate that was uploaded in a Facebook post.

Kansas residents interested in buying the plate should go here to procure one after New Year’s Day.

  1. I would enjoy owning a souvenir version of this plate and well as the other states also issuing such commemorative plates. No options as a non-resident?
