“Cars” inspires others to take two-lane vacations

I perform blog searches nearly every day to see what's going on with Route 66. For about a week, since "Cars" opened wide, I've seen many entries like Mommy Life's:

The effects of this movie will be long-lasting in this family. I've already told Tripp we need to save up to take a road trip across Route 66 next year with the kids. Though I travelled cross country with the kids four years ago when we moved to Virginia from California, we stuck to the highways and only took nine days. Plus Tripp wasn't with us. Cars made me want to experience a slower and more vacation-y trip with the whole family (well, what's remaining 🙂

I've read at least two dozen other blogger posts like it. "Cars" is definitely sparking others to think out of their usual take-a-flight or buzz-down-the-interstates box when planning their vacations.

  1. We are currently trying to open a Car Museum and kiddie park with other options in Winslow, Az along old Route 66 we need help with Grants we feel this is the best time to build and we have a huge collection of vehicles. What do you think?

  2. I think it would be OK. I would partner on advertising with the other nearby Route 66 tourist stops like La Posada and the Standin’ On a Corner store to let people know you’re there.
