Route 66 photo exhibit on display in Nevada casino

Photographer Michael Campanelli drove the length of Route 66 and took more than 1,000 photos.

He chose 166 of the best ones, and they are now on display at John Ascuaga’s Nugget in Sparks, Nev., during the Hot August Nights weeklong celebration.

The Reno Gazette-Journal has the story.

  1. I drove old route 66 to St. Louis back in the 1950’s. I went with a friend and we drove his car, a sooped up vintage car, that was new at the time. We got stopped by the highway patrol in the Ozarks and met the local magistrate who took our money and then invited us to go catfishing with him that afternoon. It was a once in a life time experience and I’m glad that Mr. Campanelli took the time to rediscover the good ole days on Route 66. wolfegahr@charter.net
