A group of road cruisers from Cincinnati, called CinZroadsters, drove Route 66 from Chicago to St. Louis a few days ago. Here is a video of highlights from the trip:
The organizers apparently are doing the rest of the Mother Road on June 9-24. Details are here.
I’m certainly happy to see a bunch of Cincinnatians hitting the Mother Road though I suspect this will be an educational outing for many. It seems they’re starting out with the idea that Sedona & the Grand Canyon glass promenade are Sixty-Six highlights and it’s kind of sad seeing so many unfolded folding tops. Hopefully attitude adjustment will occur early in the trip and they’ll all be topless when they pull into the Elbow Inn – the cars, that is.
Even though I sound a bit disparaging (I think it was all the footage of closed roadsters) I really do admire CinZRoadsters (and Cheryl and Chris Cane) for getting on the road and acquainting a good sized group of Cincinnati folks with Route 66. Bon voyage, neighbors!
