Here’s a new slide show of art and photos from Route 66.
I don’t know what singer or band is doing that jazzy version of “Route 66.” If you know who it is, chime in in the comments section.

That’s pretty cool! There is a excellent looking building at 1:36 second to go..sort of a yellow stone place with red trim. Any idea what this building is, or where it is? What a fantastic looking place!
That is the remnants of the long-closed Gascozark Cafe, in western Pulaski County, Mo. According to Skip Curtis’ book, “The Missouri U.S. 66 Tour Book,” it was built in 1939. It later was a Greyhound bus depot, then the Spinning Wheel tavern.
Out of curiosity, I wrote the guy who did the video and asked who the musical artists were. His response was: “I don’t know. I got it from the Goodwill. It said 101 Strings Orchestra (Stricty Foxtrot & Quickstep)”
Great Images! Just like those old road movies. Do they still have drive in movies in the United States ?
There are three still operating on Route 66 that I can think of: The Sky View Drive-In in Litchfield, Ill.; the 66 Drive-In in Carthage, Mo.; and the Admiral Twin in Tulsa, Okla.
Thanks for the reply Ron. If I win the Lotto and get to retire, I’d love to buy it! Until then, I’ll have to hope someone else comes along to save it (if it’s still saveable).
Many thanks for your reply Ron! ( I don’t know who the previous reply was but it wasn’t me). One of my favorite all time movies was ‘Vanishing Point ‘ from the 1970s with Barry Newman as leading role.does anyone know if this was filmed on Route 66 ?
