An Italian luxury yacht company, ISA Yachts, is building a 217-foot-long yacht called Route 66 for delivery in spring 2017, according to Superyacht Times.
According to Superyacht Business, the Route 66 design was unveiled at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show last month. The boat is so named “in honor of the famous legendary American highway crossing the States from Illinois to California” and is 66 meters long.
During the announcement of the model, came with the slogan “Life is a journey, not a destination.” And a small Route 66 shield can be seen on the side of the vessel.
Designed by Andrea Vallicelli, the Route 66 is powered by two Caterpillar diesel engines and reaches a top speed of 18.5 knots. It weighs over 1,100 tons and has enough living-quarters space for 12 guests. It includes its own beach club and wellness center.
More about the Route 66 yacht can be found here. More images of the yacht can be seen at Vallicelli’s website under the “Work in Progress” section.
An email to ISA asking the estimated price of the yacht went unanswered. However, given the specs, it is going to cost tens of millions of dollars.
