Another fundraiser on the road

Three men in their 60s from Pennsylvania are traveling Route 66 westward to San Bernardino, Calif., as a fundraiser for KidsVoice, an advocacy program for neglected or abused kids in Allegheny County, reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The three have a plastic dinosaur mascot called Carnie that’s tagging along for the ride. They take pictures of Carnie along various Route 66 locations and post them on their Web site here.

  1. Huge thanks for mentioning my pop and his buddies on their trip. This site proved very helpful in planning their trip! We’ll make sure to mention it on our blog. Thanks!!!

  2. Ron,

Having a blast driving and blogging across the USA! We actually have four old guys over 60 traveling. Three of us turned 60 this year and the other is 67. We love the Mother Road although sometimes we travel some pretty scary dirt paths. Thanks for mentioning us in your Blog –I used some of it to plan our trip. Dawn wasn’t at the Rock Cafe when we got there but I did get a picture of Scotty who is the managers son.

See ya in the next town!!

    Merle
