The Funks Grove rest area on Interstate 55 in Illinois, near Bloomington, has a nice little Route 66 display area. Here’s a video of what it looks like:
The rest area was named the best in Illinois a year ago.

I traveled US [route] 66 many times from Los Angeles to Springfield, Missouri as a child before the interstate system killed it. The last time through Oatman was in 1969 when it was still US 66
I now live in Ohio [four hours east of Chicago] and when ever we travel to California to see family, we’ll take extra travel time to travel the old route.
This coming January, [our first winter trip] we’re going to pick up the route in East St.Louis, Illinois and travel to Palm Springs via Needles, California.
Even though most of the route is not an state highway, there is much to see, good eating, lodging and good fellowship with people who loves talking about Route 66.
