A car show scheduled for Saturday will offer a look at the progress of the soon-to-open Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

Automobile enthusiasts are invited to show off their cars and motorcycles during the day-long event that will feature updates and a progress report on the planned 10,000-square-foot property. There is no fee to participate in the car and motorcycle show.
“It’ll be a fun party,” said Lina Holmes, executive director of the Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum, Inc., the not-for-profit organization creating the museum. “We want people to see we are making progress and moving forward.”
The museum, scheduled to open early next year, will feature vintage cars. a gift shop and exhibits about Route 66, including how the military used the famed road. The eye-catching gimmick for the museum will be a 66-foot-tall vintage gas pump on the groups.
