Recently, the Voice of America traveled Route 66 for a series of videos.
The hosts of the Voice of America videos are trying to help viewers learn English, which is why their speech is a bit halting and deliberate. Many of the videos also are subtitled.
Here’s a playlist of the seven Learning English videos. The total length is about 15 minutes.

Nicely done. Excellent production values and a good look at all the states–except Oklahoma. Forgive me if this sounds defensive, but most of the short segment about Oklahoma (that was in the last video of the loop) was a speeded up video of Interstate travel. There were a few seconds of a rodeo but that could have been anywhere in the country and seemed tacked on. They barely caught the corner of the Coleman Theatre Beuatiful (not even a full shot of the distinctive building and only recognizable to those who already know it). No interviews in Oklahoma and the only person we saw was a cowboy for a couple of seconds. If they did indeed drive through the entire state–which we all know has the most driveable miles of Route 66–I fear they missed Historic 66 and just sped through on the super slab. We in Oklahoma REALLY need to do something to prevent Route 66 travelers from missing those connections with the old road as they approach Tulsa and Oklahoma City. And now for something completely different–Merry Christmas to you, Ron.
