Tickets for the upcoming 18th season of the Fabulous Palm Spring Follies in Palm Springs, Calif., are now on sale for its Route 66-themed “Get Your Kicks!” show, which begins Oct. 28 and runs through early May 2009.
And according to the Follies’ newsletter, a roadie is advising the crew on the show:
I don’t remember a season when I was more excited about a new Follies edition than this. Get Your Kicks! is already generating enormous buzz by the good folks associated with the various historic Route 66 organizations. And there is no one to whom we are more indebted than the Founder and President of the Route 66 Preservation Foundation, Mr. Jim Conkle. For several decades, this intrepid advocate has dedicated his life to keeping the spirit and culture of The Mother Road alive for this and succeeding generations. And he has provided the Follies with invaluable direction in making this Follies theme as authentic as possible.

It has been my pleasure to work with the Follies Folks. They are like us roadies, very easy to know and very passionate about what they are involved in.
This years theme to honor Route 66 is shaping up to be their best season ever. Hopefully a lot of roadies will be able to attend at least one of the performances.
