According to the Prague Daily Monitor (that’s Prague in the Czech Republic, not Oklahoma), a small group will drive four three-wheel Velorex cars from Chicago to Los Angeles in September.
The three-wheel car with a pipe framework covered with imitation leather were developed and started to be produced in then Czechoslovakia in 1936 for handicapped people.
All four cars have been completely overhauled before the journey during which they will cover more than 4,000 kilometres.
I’m reasonably certain this is the group’s Web site. I tried to use an online Czech-to-English translator for it, but results left much to be desired.
UPDATE: Here’s another report by Radio Prague.
