Nick Kenny of the United Kingdom has done several Route 66 trips and has wisely documented his experiences with a Nikon camera.
His Flickr account contains more than 450 images of Route 66. That’s reason enough to check it out. But then there’s this:
I have geocoded all photos exactly to help others planning a Route 66 trip. We had some problems locating a few of the stops along the road so I hope this will be of use to someone!
So when you click on the “map” link with the Gay Parita photo in the Flickr account, you see this pop up, as shown by a screen shot:
I’ve checked a number of the maps with the photos, and they’re quite accurate.
There’s also a main continental map here, where you can see spots along Route 66 and link them to the photos.
That’s really going to come in handy for folks trying to find some of Route 66’s more obscure sights.
