A new Muffler Man fiberglass giant will be erected at the soon-to-open Route 66 Food Truck Park in Springfield, Missouri.
The Facebook account for the Route 66 business made the announcement Monday:
Kirk is Kirk Wheeler, owner and creator of the food-truck park, which is slated to open in mid-February. The original projected opening was Feb. 1, but it was delayed by weather.
Some of the food trucks, however, will arrive at the site at 1530 E. St. Louis St. (aka Route 66) by Feb. 3.
The administrator for the account also sent Route 66 News another image of the new Muffler Man:
The Muffler Man was created by Enchanted Castle Studios, the same outfit that created the custom Buck Atom Muffler Man in front of Buck Atom’s Cosmic Curios on 66 in Tulsa last year.
Route 66 Food Truck Park will have a full-service bar and gift shop in addition to up to 10 food trucks when it opens.
A similar concept called Fuel 66 opened along Route 66 in Tulsa, but that closed last year — probably because of new competition from the nearby Mother Road Market. Fuel 66 also didn’t have a gift shop.
