The Route 66 town of Atlanta, Ill., is moving its historical museum out of the basement of its library. But it’s going only a half-block away, reports the Lincoln Courier.
The committee decided that the permanent collection in the new museum would be made up of the following themes: Atlanta High School; Atlanta Union Central Agricultural Society (Atlanta Fair); Atlanta Business; Atlanta and Abraham Lincoln; John Hayter and Fred Storrs Photography; Atlanta Argus; Atlanta Civic, Municipal, Religious and Cultural; Atlanta Military Service; Atlanta Agricultural; and Historic Resources and Genealogy. […]
The new museum site will also be the home of the resurrected Palms Grill Cafe, a local eatery popular in Atlanta in the 1930s and ‘40s.
