Jaunted.com reports that “Men Who Stare at Goats,” starring George Clooney, is currently filming a segment at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. The campus is right on Route 66.
WizbangPop.com reports that the dark comedy also stars Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges.
WENN reports that Spacey and Clooney were treated to dinner by New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, thanking them for placing the film’s production in his state. Richardson, by the way, yesterday accepted the post of commerce secretary in the upcoming Barack Obama presidency.
“Men Who Stare at Goats” is tentatively set for a 2010 release. The film is reportedly based on the Jon Ronson 2004 nonfiction book “The Men Who Stare at Goats,” which is about the U.S. Army’s exploration of the paranormal as a military tool.
