Corndog-eating record broken during Mobil 1’s Route 66 tour stop in Albuquerque

A competitive eater reportedly gobbled 11 big corndogs in three minutes and broke a world record Saturday during Mobil 1’s “Keep Route 66 Kickin'” tour at the Clowndog Hot Dog Parlor in Albuquerque.

Geoff Esper of Massachusetts accomplished the feat, breaking the old record of eight in three minutes, according to Mobil 1’s Facebook page and a report by KRQE-TV in Albuquerque.

Another competitive eater, Miki Sudo, became Clowndog Corndog Eating Champion by devouring 21 of its corndogs in eight minutes. She also has won the annual Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest eight times.

Longtime Route 66 News readers might remember Sudo from three years ago when she gobbled two 72-ounce steak meals in less than an hour at the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo.

The Mobil 1 campaign’s next stop is Oct. 15 at the Sky View Drive-In theater in Litchfield, Illinois, where the venue will try to set the world record of the most dogs at an outdoor movie screening.
