Oklahoma church pays tribute this month to Disney-Pixar film “Cars”

A church in a Tulsa suburb recently changed its lobby into a tribute to the Route 66-inspired Disney-Pixar animated film “Cars” from 2006.

But you better hurry to see it — it will be up only a couple of more weeks.

Life.Church in south Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, annually changes its lobby to an “At the Movies” theme. This year, they changed it to resemble the fictional Route 66 town of Radiator Springs in”Cars.”

According to the Oklahoma Route 66 Association:

“We tried to be very authentic to the movie and we would love to show it off to other Route 66 enthusiasts,” Pastor Francis said.

From Sarge’s Quonset hut to Flo’s Cafe to the statue of Stanley outside of the fire station, the church lobby looks like it was lifted right from the silver screen. You can even take a selfie with Mater or Lightning McQueen!

Life.Church put together this short video about the transformed lobby:

Visitors can stop by Life.Church at 5801 S. Elm Place in Broken Arrow (map here) during office hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and during services on Sundays.

The “Cars” theme will remain up at the church only through July.
