Anthony Arno of the Route 66 Podcast recently announced he is offering Route 66 scholarships ranging from $25 to $1,000 for students from kindergarten age through college.
Here’s what Arno stated in an email:
Students simply need to show the spirit of Route 66 in their very own creative and expressive way. Past recipients can be viewed on our website at this link, including the college-level winner Deanna DeValve, who wrote a thoughtful song about her Native American heritage being compared to Route 66 in which she won a $1000 award.
This is a wonderful opportunity to bring attention to the many communities along Route 66, but participants do not need to live along the highway to submit an entry.
Scholarship applications and additional information can be found at Route66Podcast.com. The deadline to apply is Jan. 31.
The podcast contains 55 episodes so far, ranging from interviews with Michael Wallis and Angel Delgadillo to deeper dives into landmarks and historical events that have occurred along Route 66.
