“Samantha Brown’s Places to Love” episode focuses on Route 66 in Illinois

A new episode of “Samantha Brown’s Places to Love” series on PBS-TV concentrates on Route 66 in Illinois.

Longtime Route 66ers will notice a few familiar faces, including John Weiss, Terri Ryburn, Debbie Funk and Buz Waldmire.

Here’s a description of the episode:

The Illinois stretch of Route 66 is chock full of American history and Americana! Samantha meets up with her best friend for pit stops at the iconic Polk-a-dot Drive-in, the Pontiac Oakland Auto Museum and America’s Playable Arcade Museum. Next up is the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library, the Ace Neon Sign Museum, the Cahokia Mounds and diner food, leading right to the mighty Mississippi River.

The episode is really good. Then again, Brown has been the host of television travel shows for about 25 years; she knows what she’s doing.
