Dawn Welch, owner of the historic Rock Cafe in Stroud, Oklahoma, flagged this video from 2004 created by Jack Frank.
Welch said it was just six years into her ownership.
My mother has passed and this may be the only video recorded of her helping at the cafe. She literally taught me how to cook just days before opening cafe. It was definitely trial and error those first few years

You also get a look at Welch’s young daughter Alexis, who often helped with the restaurant’s operation.
The video also was before a fire in 2008 that gutted the eatery. Welch insisted the Rock Cafe’s stone walls be rebuilt, and she had her way.
