Ida Red General Store, specializing in Oklahoma-made gifts, is selling a handpainted, Route 66-themed snow globe featuring several Route 66 landmarks in the Sooner State.
Rhys Martin, president of the Oklahoma Route 66 Association who helped get clearances for the creation, showed the snow globe in a video:
The landmarks I spotted in the snow globe are:
- Rock Cafe sign
- Pony Bridge
- Blue Whale
- Buck Atom statue
- Waylan’s KuKu sign
- Milk Bottle Building
- Lucille’s gas station
- Desert Hills Motel sign
- Will Rogers statue
- The big Route 66 sign in Elk City
The snow globe contains a music box that plays “(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66.”
The snow globe is about $100 and can be ordered here. It can be shipped or picked up at one of the Ida Red stores in Tulsa.
