If you want a Route 66-themed Christmas card, you could do much worse than this one issued in 1959 for Campbell 66 Express trucking company based out of Springfield, Missouri.
Richard Crabtree posted the image on the Springfield, Missouri History, Landmarks & Vintage photography page on Facebook.
The camel called Snortin’ Norton (with the motto “humpin’ to please”) was the mascot at Campbell 66 Express for many years.
The company started in 1933 and declared bankruptcy in 1986. Its status as a corporation ended in 1997.
Here’s a nice history of the company as told by a trucker:
A few of the Campbell’s 66 Express trailers featuring Snortin’ Norton still exist, including a couple at the late Rich Henry’s Rabbit Ranch in Stanton, Illinois.
