The Bristow Route 66 Toy Museum in Bristow, Oklahoma, is the culmination of one man’s dream and his collecting of toys for over 50 years.
KJRH-TV in nearby Tulsa interviewed Bret Fadely, who co-owns the museum and is its visionary.
“All my life, for years, I’ve collected toys. I just wanted to share and make people happy looking at toys,” he said.
From antique and rusty to shiny and new, there are thousands of playthings to peruse.
“99% is my personal collection… and I have a lot more at home,” said Fadely.
In addition to his half-century-old personal collection, Fadely acquired memorabilia from the defunct Bell’s Amusement Park in Tulsa.
The station reported the museum for now is open only on Fridays and Saturdays, but Fadely said he’ll expand those hours after he retires this year.
Admission to the museum is free, but a donation is requested. It’s at 118 N. Main St. (aka Route 66) in Bristow.
