Entrepreneur and Route 66 booster Mary Beth Babcock is planning a fourth, 20-foot-tall Muffler Man giant named Cowboy Bob at one of her businesses in Tulsa.
The Tulsa World had the details:
The newest giant, Cowboy Bob, will be the mascot for Buck’s Vintage on 66 that is moving into the 66 Collective with other shops, according to Babcock.
Cowboy Bob will stand west of the building, located at 1317 E. 11th St.
Scott Farmer of Sculpture Island created a Cowboy Bob model that will be duplicated, albeit taller, for the Cowboy Bob giant. Farmer modified a model of another character to get the look Babcock wanted. Farmer said the final version will be a little different — Cowboy Bob’s jeans will be tucked into his boots.
Babcock hinted on social media that a fifth giant could be on the way.
In Facebook posts last month, Babcock said the new location for Buck’s Vintage on 66 will be opening sometime in the spring.
One almost needs a scorecard to keep track, but Babcock’s first Muffler Man, named Buck Atom, was installed in 2019 at her Buck Atom’s Cosmic Curios on 66. She gave Buck a girlfriend, Stella Atom, and installed it in June 2024.
She added a Meadow Gold Mack statue in front of the Meadow Gold Mack’s Route 66 Outpost last summer, as well.
