A fire on Thursday night heavily damaged the closed Olive Oatman Restaurant & Saloon and the adjoining Oatman General Store in downtown Oatman, Arizona.
Fire crews first responded to the blaze at 9:52 p.m. local time, reported the Mohave Daily News.
“I got a call last night at 9:45, there was a smell of smoke on main street,” said Oatman Fire Chief Gail Robinson. “I came out and I could see the flames coming through the roof at that point.”
No injuries were reported. The fire also damaged a utility pole and transformer behind the restaurant, leaving the Oatman Highway west-side retailers without power on Friday.
The cause of the fire was undetermined, with possible electrical issues, Robinson said. The owners of the building had been setting up a new shop.
A total of 10 fire departments responded, wary of the blaze spreading to adjacent buildings amid high winds. The fire and a flareup caused to brief closures of Main Street (aka Route 66) in Oatman.

Online reviews indicate the restaurant closed sometime in 2021.
