This isn’t about Route 66, but it should interest roadies.
Michael Wallis, author of the best-selling “Route 66: The Mother Road,” is writing a book about America’s first trancontinental road, the Lincoln Highway. Right now, Wallis is motoring down the Lincoln Highway with Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Michael Williamson, who’s supplying the photos for the book, and travel and literary agent Anne Garrett, who’s acting as a travel and research coordinator during the trip.
Garrett is blogging about her experiences on the Lincoln Highway here. She doesn’t blog every day because some of the motels where they’re staying don’t have Internet connections.
Suzanne Wallis, Michael’s wife, tells me the book is titled “The Lincoln Highway,” with a possible subtitle to be determined later. It is scheduled to be published in spring 2007.
