There are plenty of photo montages of Route 66 trips on YouTube. But this cross-country motorcycle trek by is good because of the photography by Phil Rubin and the inclusion of Chuck Berry's "Route 66" and Brad Paisley's "Behind the Clouds."

According to the Rolla (Mo.) Daily News, the town's Route 66 Summerfest is "getting bigger every year." This year's version is from May 31 to June 2. A special tabloid newspaper detailing the event, with a distribution of more than 20,000 copies, will hit the streets in early May outlining the festival. A Zinger of a version
Barbra Zinger, a Brazilian country singer who sings primarily in Portugese, sings a countrified version in English of Bobby Troup's classic, "Route 66," in this video that doubles as a motorcycle travelogue:
Booze and book tours don’t mix
I don't care how good this guy's math is -- this is a bad idea. Sy Nazif, author of "Never Mind the Track," plans for a month-long ride from Los Angeles to Chicago along old Route 66, and continuing on to New York City promoting his book. Public service announcement
"Wild Hogs," the motorcycle-trip movie that was partly shot on Central Avenue (Route 66) in Albuquerque, opens today in theaters. It has received a dreadfully low approval rating of 19 percent so far on the Rotten Tomatoes Critics Tomatometer, and is trending downward. You have been warned.

He was known as "The Guy with … Continue reading “Guy with the horns” dies
Riding with The King
This combination of a slide show and film footage from a group's motorcycle trip through the desert Southwest in April 2006 is better than most that I see on YouTube. I also approve including the hit remix of "A Little Less Conversation" by Elvis Presley.

According to this news release, Activision has produced a new PlayStation2 game called Harley-Davidson Race to the Rally, which allows even non-motorcycle riders to experience the open road in a Hog. Here are the features: Harley-Davidson®: Race to the Rally takes gamers from coast to coast across America exploring classic rides centric to "Harley-Davidson" and … Continue reading PlayStation2 game includes a Route 66 cruise
Mini road trip
For those who think regular motorcycles are too darned big, there are mini motorsports rallies. This one was on Route 66 in Arizona from Seligman to Grand Canyon Caverns. I love AC/DC, but "Shoot to Thrill" seems a tad macho for someone who rides a motor scooter.
This is a church?
The Creek County (Okla.) Board of Adjustment rejected Charles Elliott's request for zoning exceptions so he can host a motorcycle rally on his property off Route 66 near Depew, according to the Sapulpa Daily Herald. Elliott hosted one rally last year, but a second was halted by a court injunction because it violated zoning rules. … Continue reading This is a church?
