Rooms filling up fast for Grants motorcycle rally

The Cibola County Beacon is reporting that eight of 10 motels in Grants, N.M., are full for the Fire & Ice Route 66 Bike Rally weekend on July 14-16. The local campgrounds have spaces. Better act fast if you want to attend, though.

The Sapulpa (Okla.) Daily Herald has details about the annual Route 66 Blowout, which takes place June 3 and is expected to draw 15,000 to 20,000 people. If you've got a classic car in your garage, bring it.

Grants unveils Vietnam veterans memorial

The Route 66 town of Grants, N.M., unveiled a new, privately funded Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Friendship Park on the city's west side, according to the Gallup Independent.
