Route 66 News doesn’t give a lot of ink to chain restaurants, when plenty of great mom-and-pop eateries on the Mother Road are available.

However, we’re giving credit where credit is due. Culver’s, a Wisconsin-based chain famous for its “butterburgers” and frozen custard, is building its first restaurant in Webb City, Mo. And here’s Culver’s excellent move, according to the Joplin Globe:

This will be the first Culver’s in the chain with the a Route 66 theme. There are over 400 Culver’s sites nationally.

A special logo, resembling a fancy hood ornament, has been created for the event. The ornament says: “Culver’s Route 66, Webb City, Mo. — America’s First.’’

The Culver’s in Webb City is set to open in March.

Glad to see them joining in the celebration of Rte.66. They have a store on one of the Rte. 66 alignments in Springfield, Ill. Too bad it didn’t get the same treatment.

That’s GREAT news. Culver’s is quickly becoming our burger joint of choice when we’re on the road in the midwest. They’ll definitely put the squeeze on Braum’s out there.

Gotta agree with Pat. Culvers burgers are fantastic! Steak N Shake with more meat…and the bun is full of buttery goodness…the restaurants I have been to have been full of memorabilia from its hometown, Wisconsin Dells, so I sense they will do a good job with Route 66….slan go foill, Kip

Culvers in Webb City Mo has been open almost a month now and you can’t hardly get near the place, they are so busy and what a great product and friendly people and great service. What a great location right across from McDonalds. Culvers actually has the better location and the new may never wear off…most incredible…we are going there tonight after choir practice for my 58th birthday with another man who is 61 today also and he will have his twin boys…The sundays and concrete’s are fantastic…we go there to get our fruit and top it off with custard for instance..strawberry and banana anything…this is not new to the area…Shakes has been here for years and Freddy’s just opened three months ago…Culvers has got them all topped with great food and great location and beautiful store with the 66 theme…
