This performance by Earl Grant has become one of my favorite performances of Bobby Troup’s most famous song. I like the easy groove of this tune.
This recording came out in 1966 on a tribute album to Nat King Cole, who’d died of cancer the previous year. Cole popularized Troup’s “Route 66″ in 1946 when it became a big hit on the pop and R&B charts.
