This looks like fun. Stone Baker soon will launch “American Giants,” a series of online films about Muffler Men — the tall fiberglass figures that graced roadside America during the 1960s and ’70s.

Baker uploaded a teaser video about his project:

The unique Gemini Giant at the Launching Pad restaurant on Route 66 in Wilmington, Ill., was featured prominently in the teaser. Even though the number of Muffler Men has steadily declined over the years, at least a dozen still populate the Mother Road.

Baker also has launched a blog about his obsession. If you want to keep up with his videos, subscribe to his YouTube channel.
