A print story hasn’t been posted yet, but The Oklahoman newspaper posted this video yesterday about an idea for a Route 66 billboard museum in Bethany, Okla.:

Longtime Oklahoma roadie Kathy Anderson came up with the idea. And, as you can tell by the video, the idea is that neon signs and porcelain signs will be part of the museum as well.

It’s all in the planning stages by the Bethany Improvement Foundation, and a site hasn’t been selected yet. But Bethany seems eager to get something going in its commercial district on the Mother Road.

UPDATE 2/18/2013: A written story about the billboard museum proposal is here.
